| A web template is a basic component of the web design process. It is used to separate your content from the presentation of that content - the design of the site. Websites with lots of content will benefit the most from a template, smaller sites will benefit on smaller scales. Web templates can be used to set up any type of website. |

| Consistency means your pages look similar to each other. Not exact, but similar. Separation means your content is not packed together, but spaced so it is easy on the eyes. Your site design should allow for both, in a natural manner. Beauty is subject to opinion, consistency and separation are not. Does your site have these qualities? |
A good template allows the content manager to think about the content, and not the HTML code. You want to embed a YouTube clip? That should be easy. You want to make a word larger? That should be easy, too. |
