In addition to formal education, I've taken a few seminars, attended webinars, etc. Here is an incomprehensive list of them. Some are exact titles, other are a bit vague... since it's been a while.
- HTML 1 & 2
- The basics of HTML 1, and a tad bit more with the second installation of the class.
- I took this course many years ago, while it did help back then, it's tremendously basic today. Nonetheless, it's time in a classroom.
- Vignette Dialog Training
- Vignette Dialog, as I mentioned in the Email Marketing page, is a very robust email marketing tool.
- In order to help install and configure this massive tool, I had to undergo a long training session which helped me understand not only how it works, but how to install it, and maximize it's potential.
- Phone Etiquette
- This was a fun class. I actually participated in this class by accident. I was giving a number of training seminars in Houston, TX when during an hour long break, some other people came in to train on Phone Etiquette. Rather than take my break, I sat in for the class. I learned a few things, such as, smile before saying hello when you answer the phone.
- Search Engine Optimization
- Just before SEO became the job title to have for thousands of professionals around the nation, I was taking seminars, attending webinar and contemplating my future as an SEO specialist.
- Pay Per Click
- PPC is an interesting subject. The concept here is to pay for traffic to one's website. The interesting thing about that, is that it can be quantified, thus Return on Investment can be measured. I've participated in a few courses regarding the subject. Some were given by greats such as Google.
- Web Analytics
- From SurfAid, to Coremetrics, to Omniture, over the years I've worked with leading web analytics provides. Sitting in on their calls, assessing them for procurement, or picking their brains for advanced techniques.
- Branding
- Books, seminars, webinars, calls, and even a boss who was the VP of Branding for a 10 Billion dollar organization. I like branding very much. And I keep up to date on it whenever I can. The most recent subject I've taken on has been Emotional Branding... now that's an interesting concept.
- Product Launch
- While some might say "well, the product is complete. Let's release it."... it's a bit more complicated than that. So much so that pros in the field create classroom sessions around it. They can be rather involved, but the knowledge is timeless. Another topic of interest for me, I enjoy product launching, and I enjoyed my time in those courses.
- and a few others that escape me.
- I'll update this page as I remember them.
